The average climate in Penang is a minimum of 23*C and a maximum of 30*C although it has risen to a high of 37*C before. The daytime usually welcomes a warm and sunny 27*C – 30*C temperature and at night it drops to around 22*C – 24*C.

Penang has an all year round sunny and warm climate with plenty of rainfall. Its monsoon season is from April to September so the best time to go for a beach holiday would be at the year end. While the sea breezes cool the island off more than the dense cities on the mainland, they are susceptible to dust particles from forest burnings in Sumatra, which contribute mainly to the random haze conditions.

What you should look out for is the unexpected rains that can happen at any time so if you plan a trip to Penang, be ready to expect showers, this way you would be able to back up your holiday and pick another activity on the island to do.
