Penang Beach
Have fun at Batu Ferringhi Beach, Gurney
Drive, Tanjung Bungah Beach.

The beach is one of the most favourite destinations of a traveller to
Penang. As the climate is mostly sunny and practically summer-like all year round, visitors flock to the
beach to soak in the island fun in the sun.
A recommended beach stay would be at
Tanjung Bungah, which is at the bottom of the
Batu Ferringhi hill. The hotels on Tanjung Bungah are priced
very reasonably for very good service. However one of the more popular strips of beach is at Batu Ferringhi
where you can find beautiful hotels such as the Rasa Sayang, Golden Sands Resort, Park Royal, Holiday Inn,
Bayview, and more. Most of the beach front hotels lean towards a steeper price while hotels across the road from
the beaches are slightly more affordable.
You can indulge in beach activities such as jet skiing, parasailing,
banana boat riding, and even horseback riding on the sands! You will have to ask the hotel where you might
find the horseback riding activity.
For a satisfying Penang trip, indulge in a seafood
dinner or head down to Gurney Drive for an array of wonderful Penang food experience
(which is the number one thing Penang is known for!). If you’re not sure of what to order, keep your eyes out
for Char Koay Teow, Koay Teow Th’ng, Assam Laksa, Curry Laksa, Rojak Buah (fruit mix), grilled fish, fried
shellfish, and to cool your throats try the Ais Kacang, Cendol, or Leng Chi
Kang.
You could also go up to Batu Ferringhi to find a delightful row of bars
and restaurants across the road from the beaches, for a chilled glass beer for those who want to kick back
and enjoy the evening. For those who want to walk about more, there is a roadside hike of a lengthy row of
stalls selling designer knock offs, souvenirs, clothes and more. It is known to be a bargain market and a
definite colourful sight not to be missed.
